The "Bravest Kid" Award
Official Rules

Each "Bravest Kid" award is as unique as the child that requests it. The award is open to any child with any type of cancer, anywhere in the United States and Canada. This is not a contest, but merely a recognition award. A child may ask for anything they desire and the JSF Foundation will furnish it for them, plus each child receives a special "Bravest Kid" trophy that says to the world "I've been through a really tough time in my life, and here is my trophy to prove it".

In order to qualify for the "Bravest Kid" award:

  1. The child must have or have had any form of cancer (currntly undergoing treatment, in remission, be considered cured, or N.E.D.).
  2. The child must be 18 years of age or younger.
  3. Anyone including the caregiver, parent, legal guardian, relative or friend must submit in writing, a short story about the child, the procedure(s) he or she has gone through (with actual procedure dates) and how you think he or she qualifies as the "Bravest Kid".
  4. A recent color photo must also be submitted.
  5. The parent or legal guardian must sign a release (supplied by the JSF Foundation) to have the childs photo and story published on the World Wide Web, used in Press Releases and in any related media.
Award winners will be chosen by the JSF Foundation staff based upon the story submitted. Actual facts and dates may be verified with hospital personnel and/or physicians for authenticity. Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number where you can be reached with your story. The JSF Foundation reserves the right to edit the story for content and/or to fit the layout of the actual web page.

Prizes awarded:

One (1) Grand prize: The JSF Foundation Trophy and Anything the child has been asking for but has not already received by the parents or any other charity. Each Grand Prize Winner will get to be a special guest at one of the upcoming fund raising events.
One (1) First prize: The JSF Foundation Trophy with the childs name engraved
Two (2) Honorable mention prizes: The JSF Foundation Gold metal ribbon
Prizes will be awarded quarterly. Only the Grand prize winner will have their story and photo published on this site.

The JSF Foundation reserves the right to update/change these rules from time to time. All entrants will be notified of the winning entry by mail. Any photos will not be returned. All stories become property of the JSF Foundation.
